NUSKU FIREBLOCKER PAINT GRADE
As a paint grade product, the way Nusku Fireblocker weathers over time is largely based on the finishes & coatings that are applied following installation. We always recommend refinishing paint grade every few years for optimal performance, but can still experience minor grain raise and checking as an all natural wood product.
NUSKU FIREBLOCKER WEATHERING
The goal of the applied finishes on Nusku Fireblocker is to reduce the possibility of moisture exposure. When Redwood is exposed to excess moisture it can cause grain raise, tannin bleed & swelling. Thus, high level of moisture resistance in exterior finishes is crucial.
MOISTURE EXPOSURE
UV rays can be brutal on any paint grade finish, & thus UV inhibitors in the coating are important. Like most items left out in the sun, the material and vivid color in the paint will fade over time. We typically suggest lighter finish colors to reduce the appearance of fading.

Nusku Fireblocker is manufactured from one-hundred percent Redwood utilizing a finger joint & edge glue process. The final step is a multiple coat priming process using our proprietary Class A primer, and thus the material delivers to your project with primer already applied.

FINISHING OPTIONS
The Nusku Fireblocker primer is a Low VOC water based coating that was designed to work with Redwood. This provides an ideal foundation for our customer to build upon with their finish of choice. We do recommend using high quality exterior finish with UV protection.
Nusku Fireblocker has the most installation options of the Nusku family of brands but is incredibly easy to work with being made from Redwood. The fiber is naturally light in weight, machines very well, holds nails firmly & has incredible paint retention. This product line requires no special tooling, although we do recommend high quality hardware such as stainless steel.
